Civ3 1.21 Chat Friday, April 19, 2002

2 Months and 4 days after the second, the third civ3 patch was released and we were right here to share our experiences from the changes along with several Firaxians

[Gzint] Mike: I wanted to play Civ3 in a VMWARE virtual machine, but get a "A debugger is running. Close it and try again." message. Apparently VMWARE looks like a debugger to the code that checks. Any way to work around?

[Kilroy] Mike: Sorry if this has already been addressed. Is Firaxis even considering releasing a more functional, yet unsupported editor. Is this something that has even a CHANCE of happening in the future? If not, when can the mod community expect the editor release (not along with the next patch, I hope)?

[benjdm] In the editor, what kind of range is used in the retreat bonus aspect of combat experience ? Are we talking a range of 0- 10, 0-1000, other ?

[Spiffor] Mike_Breitkreutz_FIRAXIS : Another patch idea we Apolytoners had was to decide in the editor if a terrain is "settlerable" or not (for instance, mountains are not). Is such a thing imaginable in the far future, or definitely hardcoded ?
