You may well be right, but it seems that Wright's titles are the most notorious. Maybe it's just because games like the Sims are particularly adaptable to this kind of marketing (I have always thought of that game as a computer doll house- the accessories you can add to it are nearly endless).
Regardless, I think I am done with EA titles henceforth.
I actually played Spore last night- I think the first two phases are fun. The creature phase gives me an outlet for my creativity which I really enjoy, but I don't want to play into the tribes phase and beyond- boring.
The space phase seemed so promising, but the constant nags about having to defend planets from attackers, diseased animals needing culled, etc. put a quick end to that. The only thing I can compare it to is when Windows Automatic Updater starts reminding me every ten minutes "updating your computer is almost complete" and wants to restart my system. Oh yeah, that's entertainment.
