No, nothing being worked on at the moment that I'm aware of and I'm not experiencing such difficulty.
Did you try reloading the page and clearing your browser cache(s)? Are other sections of the site similarly affected for you, e.g. http://civrev.apolyton.net? Are images on other sites you visit loading all right?

I experienced the same thing that Grandpa Troll did, at the same time.
And now it's happening again, exactly 24 hours later.
Edit: Never mind, it seems to have been a very short-lived cough-up this time.

The 'GO' button at the bottom of the page has disappeared, and a number of threads are showing 'posts' but not 'views'.

The list box at the bottom of the page (for forum navigation) and the "go" button have disapeared as well.

I think the server has a highload...you guys sure you aren't migrating to a new server now or something? Maybe doing something extra special and trying to keep it under wraps until you can reveal the "ZOMFG they brought the forums up to 2004 level quality" changes?

I'm not aware of anything special being done with the server right now so it's probably our backup system at work, it does cause increased load for a while.

Images certainly occasionally get lost (this is somewhat user-specific as different computers will choose to reload BOA's image cache differently, I believe) ... that's probably what Gramps (and others) are experiencing (I've had the same once or twice today).
I would bet a backup is the cause, but who knows.

I've been having similar problems to those that GT mentioned for the past week or so. Never ever happened to me before. I did get one error message from the MySQL server at some point today (Error 2002 - Could not connect to socket 'mysql.sock'), which implies to me that the MySQL server was being restarted (whether manually or automatically) at that point.
Simply put, to my trained eyes, the MySQL server appears to crapping itself, although I can't say whether or not it's a symptom or a cause.

Well I'm not a supporter and this site was dead for a few days.
How would linking to a big thread lead to this?
