Me too. It's a sequence of short moments that tries to convey the whole period of the game. Civ3 - Play the World used the same style. Personally, I prefer intros that just try to set the scene like the coronation in Civ4, the crossing of the Atlantic in Colonization and the voyage of the Unity in Alpha Centauri.
