Hilarious Stargate Atlantis episode Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

Hi,

Just saw a Stargate Atlantis episode that begs to be mentioned here!

Two of the crewmembers found a civilization-type game in the Atlantis station and began playing it over the course of a few months. It looked a lot like CtP2 - just some better graphics. The two men played with one civ each on either side of a river.

The clue of course, was that the 'moves' they made were sent into space, to a planet far away, where the leaders of the actual people received the data on their console, and they did what their 'oracles' told them. Even when this was revealed to the two main characters of the show, they continued behaving competitively, defending their decisions as they were made when the game was till believed to be, well, a game. Hilarious ending when one of the officers turned out to have cheated by giving his people zeppelings to bomb the other side.

@Martin: this might be a good idea for adding to AE. You would need to hand out interstellar transmitters though, not sure if that is financially feasable. Not sure either if whoever would receive our bidding would understand English, maybe Esperanto is a better choice? But imagine the fun we would have in multiplayer!

I know it's off topic, but I like to hang out with the CtP2 guys, so I'll put it here anyway.

that is intersting. doubt if it'll be coded though. The Cafe thread is great for stuff like this by the way.

From the version I saw, I guess High German does the trick. Isn't it amazing, wherever those guys goes, the native inhabitants speak our language.
