Is it possible to play SDL client, which shows a version as 1.14.99-devel on servers that are 1.14.1?

SDL client from CVS dated 12-12-03, when 1.14.1 was released may be possible, no?

(I tried it from CVS on that date and it did not work,since the version is still 1.14.99-devel, so I think there can be a tweak to get it to work) Anyone tried?

No. 1.14.1 and 1.14.99 are very different, and not network compatible.
