Dinosaurs Design Diaries
Since the announcement of Dinosaurs in mid-December 1999, Firaxis has been releasing "Dinosaur Dairies" every two weeks, discussing various aspects of the project and providing the reader with some early concept artwork to enjoy.
Below is a listing of all of the Diaries currently available on the official Dinosaurs website, and will be updated as needed.

Resources, Combat & More!

Information on the resource system, which includes food and watering holes. The resources are chaning, e.g. plants are
adopting to your evolution, forcing you to new evolution! Also info on combat, where the Dino is leaning to "a more strategic
game with the player as human "master" building and tweaking their dinos for maximum survival in a world full of a variety of threats"

The first diary. How childohood memory becomes a computer game. :)
The basic concepts of the game, an introduction on the diaries to come showing the various design choices the team had to make.
Also, Mike Ely describes the interesting possibilites that pop up just by saying "let's make a game about dinosaurs!"
