Update 6/3

Here's the skinny: 35 scenarios, the new editing capabilities, and

multiplayer for 7 people via LAN, Hotseat, or Internet. Job one is

making it cross-platform compatible, and the port is being done by the

guys who did the CivII port have nothing but the utmost confidence in

them. I'm seriously excited about this.

Update! 5/31/98

Straight from an Usenet Post:

Now that it can be told (I have been sitting on my hands a long time

about this, every time something came up about Civ II)--Civ II Gold will

be coming out in late July (projected date, of course). This will

include Multiplayer support as well as Fantastic Worlds and Conflicts in

Civilization, so FW scenarios will work on tha Mac. Until that time,

there is no way to convert FW scenarios to Mac, at least none that I

could find.

Old information...

Here's a comment from MacSoft's executive director, Peter Tamte:

We're looking very closely at this. Civ2 sales have been fabulous. I

would say that it is highly likely this will be on the Mac in the first

quarter of 1998. Of course, it will require the original Civ2 to work,

so people shouldn't wait until its release to buy Civ2.
