ELEVENTH IN PCG READER'S ALL-TIME AWARDS (March 12, 2000) Sid Meier's Civilization is the news again. Nine years after its original release, the game that put turn-based strategy games on the map and would go on to set precdent for quality in all aspects of computer gaming down the road, is being garnished with yet another recognition: it placed eleventh in PC Gamer Reader's ALL TIME Top 50 listing. Considering its "advanced" age, and that it beat out Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri in the voting, which itself was released nearly two years ago and placed in the sixteenth spot, this is an amazing and noteworthy event. PCG Reader J. Todd Morrow of Louisville, KY, had the only words in the writeup on the title: "The only game that continues to please, baffle, frustrate, and intrigue me every time I play it. It has never insulted my intelligence". - DanQ Apolyton Civilization Site Copyright © Robert Plomp and Jeroen Schweitzer All trademarks and trade names are the properties of their respective owners |
